The truth revealed ...

Bob who is NetPigeon revealed a truth to one unworthy to talk to Bob, and shared that truth, the fact of the mage hood of Bob, with Bob who reads of A.T-S.R

Situation resolved itself quite nicely. Quoted her an A.C. Clark quote:

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

Asked her politely to follow the logic (was somewhat tricky, she's a law student.)

If we take supposition above as an absolute truth, then it follows such that:

  1. Computers are advanced technology.
  2. Computers are indistinguishable from magic.
    1. Computers are magic.
  3. People who perform magic are magicians.
  4. I work on computers.
  5. I am a magician.

I explained that her computer did not have all the necessary potions and ingredients to conjure her file to her husband, who would convert it. (Missing Elixer of Computer Literacy, Potion of FTP, and Powder of Uuencoding.)

I explained that I, as a magician, could not possibly impart my vast and gregarious wisdom upon her, since she had already sullied herself with The Law, and was no longer fit to be my apprentice.

She'll be in tomorrow, and hopefully, I won't have to turn her into a Newt.
