Adding more Ram to a SIS chipset motherboard

Thomas Langham asked:
Is it possible that my motherboard with an SIS chipset, bought 2 years ago, is limited to 24mb memory?
I have 4 8mb simms (totalling 32) and my computer only sees 24...

The SIS will support up to a GB of memory, you just have to know the workaround...

First thing to do is to give the motherboard a both in a good cleaning solution such as BP 93 Octane or even better if you can find it, Turbo Blue....it must soak in this for at least 3 hours....The last ten minutes of the bath must be hot - throw a lit match in...after EXACTLY ten minutes of flames, remove the board...If you go more or less than ten minutes by even 3 seconds, the board is ruined...

After removing the board, it must then be frozen with liquid nitrogen for 1 hour.....

Repeat the above process 3 times....

Then the next step is to take your simms and glue then together at the contacts to form 1 larger simm....You then insert the new simm into the socket - you may need a hammer or a screwdriver to work it in...

After doing this, place a small amount of black powder into the simm sockets and power supply and fire the system up and watch how it smokes with all that ram....
